IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) announces the appointments of Emmanuel Manceau as Director of the Energy Systems Business Unit, and Arnaud Baudot as Director of the Chemistry for Industry Business Unit.
 

Emmanuel Manceau

Emmanuel Manceau is appointed director of the Energy Systems Business Unit.

Emmanuel Manceau obtained his aeronautical engineering degree from the École nationale supérieure des ingénieurs en construction aéronautique (ENSICA, a French engineering school). He also has a Masters degree in fluid mechanics from Louisiana State University (USA).

Emmanuel Manceau joined IFPEN in 1997 as a business development engineer in the Industrial Division. In 1998, he moved to the Reservoir Division as a research engineer, before being appointed project manager working on “uncertainty management in geosciences”.

In 2006, he was appointed Business Development Manager responsible for industrial partnerships in the Exploration-Production Business Unit. From 2009, he managed a succession of programs in the fields of the characterization and dynamic simulation of reservoirs, EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) and the water cycle.

In 2018, he was appointed Head of Customer Relations at the Energy Systems Business Unit, where he coordinated technological and academic partnerships in the field of low-carbon energy systems. He was also Operations Manager at the Ressources énergétiques Carnot Insititute.

He takes over from Benjamin Herzhaft, who was recently appointed Executive Vice-President of Research and Training.

 

Arnaud Baudot

Arnaud Baudot is appointed Director of the Chemistry for Industry Business Unit.

Arnaud Baudot graduated from the École nationale supérieure d’agronomie et des industries alimentaires food industry engineering school (ENSAIA) in Nancy. He also holds a PhD in process engineering from AgroParisTech. He has more than 25 years’ experience in innovation and technology transfer in the chemicals, energy and materials sectors and is the author of 50 patents.

Having spent the early part of his career as a research engineer in the food-processing industry, Arnaud Baudot joined IFPEN in 2002, where he led industrial projects in the fields of petrochemicals and biofuels.

In 2015, he was appointed head of the “Materials Analysis” department, where he supervised a team of 35 people conducting more than 10,000 analyses per year. In 2019, he joined the Pulsalys technology transfer accelerator as Director of Investments, notably overseeing the creation of a portfolio of six deep-tech startups.

Arnaud Baudot returned to IFPEN in 2022 as Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Business Unit where he helped manage the Group’s shareholdings. Since 2023, he has managed the “Petrochemicals” and “Strategic Metals for Sustainable Mobility” programs at the Chemistry for Industry Business Unit, where he led a research program dedicated to batteries.

He takes over from Cécile Barrère-Tricca, who has been appointed Deputy Managing Director, responsible for innovation and economic development.
