IFP School students attend EVOLEN's Annual Congress

A dozen of students from the Energy and Processes (ENEP), Processes and Polymers (POLY) and Petroleum Engineering and Project Development (DEG) programs took part in the 2019 EVOLEN Annual Congress, which focused on the Carbon Challenge for our industries.

This event was held on October 23rd and 24th at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. Attending only the first day, the students were able to share with several actors from the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors.

After the welcoming remarks of Dominique Bouvier, President of EVOLEN, the students attended several conferences, including one on the geopolitics of energy in the context of the energy transition, chaired by Didier Houssin, President of IFP Energies nouvelles.

The afternoon was spent in various workshops on topics such as the offshore wind development, gas & LNG, the role of methane in global warming and local content in Africa.

The day ended with a speech by Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total.
