Offshore oil production: DeepLines® software developed jointly by IFPEN and Principia receives award at the TERATEC Forum 2015

July 2015

Principia, a partner of IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN), received the 2015 Trophy for digital simulation in the SME category at the Forum TERATEC 2015, on 24 June 2015.

This trophy was awarded to the Deeplines® software for analyzing seabed-surface links (production lines, risers and anchoring technology) in offshore oil production.

Developed jointly by IFPEN and Principia, Deeplines® is simulation software that can be used by oil companies and engineers for designing and optimizing oil pipelines for their offshore projects. Deeplines® is marketed by the Principia engineering firm, which has been a partner of IFPEN since its foundation.

In 2014, IFPEN and Principia developed a version of the software adapted to offshore wind power: DeepLines Wind™. This software simulates wind generators’ behavior in their environment. It is used for designing, dimensioning and optimizing the floater and the anchoring system for the floating wind generators. DeepLines Wind™ is the first French industrial and commercial software for simulating offshore wind generators, with customers throughout the entire value chain.

The company’s flagship product, the Deeplines® software, is the result of the combination of IFPEN’s expertise and our knowledge and feedback of experience from the industrial market.

Benoît de Mouillac, CEO of Principia.
