IFPEN and its subsidiary Axens have just sold the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) technology they have developed – Liquefin - to Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions.
Liquefin is a natural gas liquefaction process with a high energy performance using plate-fin heat exchangers. The technology makes it possible to produce more LNG at a lower cost than the solutions currently on the market. Originally developed in partnership with a major player, this technology has been the subject of numerous validation studies conducted with engineering companies and equipment suppliers.
In the context of the energy transition and increasing demand for cleaner energies, LNG represents a solution of interest to a large number of markets worldwide. The sale of this innovative technology to Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions, the engineering and construction activity of the Air Liquide group, will allow it to be integrated within a global portfolio of solutions while addressing growing needs in the natural gas liquefaction sector.
